Direct na de geboorte krijgen alle zuigelingen 1.000 mcg vitamine K van de verloskundige toegediend. Deze dosering is goed voor de eerste week, vanaf dag 8 tot het einde van de eerste 12 weken geldt het advies om 150 mcg extra te geven.1 Baby’s zijn in deze eerste levensfase namelijk nog niet in staat om zelf vitamine K aan te maken.
Eenzelfde soort principe geldt voor vitamine D. Deze vitamine is van belang voor de opbouw en ontwikkeling van het skelet van kinderen. Echter zijn pasgeboren baby’s nog niet in staat om voldoende vitamine D uit hun voeding of zonlicht te verkrijgen. Dit is de reden waarom de Gezondheidsraad suppletie met zowel vitamine D als K aanraadt.
Vitamine D is van belang voor de opbouw van sterke botten van kinderen
De zonnevitamine staat algemeen bekend als belangrijk voor de gezondheid, maar voor jonge kinderen geldt dit des te meer. Juist in de ontwikkelingsfase heeft een kind hier behoefte aan. Vitamine D is namelijk nodig voor de normale groei en ontwikkeling van de botten van kinderen. De rol van vitamine D hierin bestaat uit het verbeteren van de opname van calcium. Daarnaast is dit nutriënt goed voor het celdelingsproces en speelt een rol in weefselgroei en ontwikkeling. Ook heeft vitamine D een positieve invloed op het immuunsysteem van kinderen. Oftewel, een vitamine met een brede uitwerking voor de allerjongsten!
Vitamine D3 in de juiste dosering tot 4 jaar
De Gezondheidsraad adviseert om kinderen t/m 4 jaar 10 mcg extra vitamine D per dag te geven.2 Echter kan de kwaliteit van de vitamine D-vorm nogal verschillen. De zonnevitamine kent namelijk twee vormen.
Vitamine D3 is beste vorm
De ene is ergocalciferol (vitamine D2) en komt voornamelijk voor in paddenstoelen. De tweede vorm is cholecalciferol (vitamine D3); dit is de vorm die mensen (en dieren) zelf aanmaken onder invloed van de zon. De laatste is de meest biologisch beschikbare vorm voor en neemt ons lichaam dus het beste op. Daarom is dit ook de vorm die wij in onze Vitamine K & D Baby hebben verwerkt.

soft finish for upper lip and chin area
I pay close attention to fine facial hair, especially around my upper lip and chin area. Under strong lighting, those small hairs can appear more visible, so I have been looking for a gentle way to care for this area without anything harsh or overly complicated. At night, after cleansing my face and completing my basic skincare, I apply this oil as the final step. It feels like a light finishing layer over the skin. I use a very small amount, about one or two drops, warm it between my fingertips, then gently press it onto the upper lip and chin area. There is no stinging sensation, and the scent is very mild, which makes the application feel calm and comfortable. The texture feels lighter than expected. It spreads smoothly and settles quickly without leaving a heavy or greasy film. My skin type leans slightly combination, and in my case it sits well without making the T zone feel overly coated. Even when I follow with a light moisturizer, it layers without pilling and still feels breathable on the skin. After using it regularly every three days in the evening, the change I notice is mainly visual. The fine facial hair looks less pronounced under bright lighting, especially around the upper lip area. Good for maintaining clean beard lines
I keep my beard trimmed, but I always have to clean up the edges along my neckline to keep it looking neat.
